Tundra

Tundra, born Jonathan Jansen (1986) is a young producer / dj / liveact /
composer / sounddesigner / labelowner / a&r manager living in Leusden.

At a young age he was already interested in various kinds of music, mainly
because of the many tapes being played on sunday afternoons by his
parents. In the 90’s, when the eurohouse genre really dominated the
airwaves, his ears were pointed at the radio more often, and his
preference for electronic music was born. During highschool he
discovered trancemusic, and started buying records, and not long after
that he began buying records and started to attend parties.

After completing highschool Jonathan had to pick a continuing study,
and after a year of preparation he was selected to attend the Utrecht
School of Music & Technology, where he studied Sounddesign &
Composition for 4 years.

Nowadays Jonathan already has had some releases on his home-label
Manual Music, and also released stuff through Secret Cinema’s “T.E.A.M.”
and did various remixes for other labels and producers.

His style can be described as moody techhouse with a progressive twist,
but Jonathan never forgets that purism is the worst thing that can happen
to creativity, so he’s not afraid to incorporate hints of acid, electro,
deephouse and even classical composition techniques into his music.
